The College of Health and Human Services was created on July 1, 2007 with the intention to increase the visibility of health professions at ISU, empower the faculty who advocate for health professions, promote collaboration between health-oriented departments, support health-related degree programs, strengthen ties with community partners, and to better meet regional and state needs.

The College fosters student excellence and develops productive citizens who function as skilled health and human services professionals to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. We exemplify teaching, scholarship, service, and community engagement through health initiatives, innovative thinking, and lifelong learning. Our vision is to serve as a leader in developing health and human services professionals who will positively influence communities. The college’s programs focus on the core values of caring, health, integrity, respect, and performance. Faculty and staff are committed to providing students with a supportive learning environment that is progressive, challenging, and creative. Students engage in experiential learning to obtain the necessary skills and credentials to become skilled professionals. High quality support services contribute to student success as all faculty are dedicated to providing students with effective academic advising.

The School of Nursing at Indiana State University admitted their first class of students in September 1963.
