INTRODUCTION
The Department of Elementary, Early, and Special Education offers graduate programs and courses designed to assist elementary, early childhood, and special education teachers, administrators, and other paraprofessionals improve their professional competence and meet licensure requirements.
CURRICULA FOR MASTER’S DEGREE LICENSURE PROGRAMS
Admission Requirements for Licensure Programs
In addition to the general criteria for admission to the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, the applicant must hold or be eligible for an Indiana teaching license in the program area to which admission is sought. International students may seek admission without a teaching license but may be subject to completing nine to 12 hours of undergraduate course work if their baccalaureate degree program does not provide adequate preparation for the graduate program sought.
LICENSURE REGULATIONS
Because of changes in educator licensing to take effect on or about August 1, 2010, up-to-date licensing information may not be reflected in this catalog. For questions, please contact Education Student Services.
Interested individuals are encouraged to consult Education Student Services in the College of Education before pursuing a program intended to lead to licensure.
Initial Teaching License: Those interested in an Initial Standard Teaching License at the graduate level need to consult the section on Post-Baccalaureate Degree Programs.
