SOC 302 - Work, Employment, and Society 3 Credits
Description
What does it mean to be a worker? How do those meanings persist or change based on time and social context? How do individuals relate to various work environments? This course examines these and other sociological facets of the “employment relationship” from the perspective of the employee. Topics include basic labor law, forms of the employment relationship, employment discrimination, regulation of the employment relationship, promotions, workplace politics, and workplace health and safety issues.
