MUS 418 - Special Music Education

Description
Philosophy, objectives, materials, and methods for teaching music to P-12th grade students with a wide spectrum of (dis)abilities. Course focuses on the development of musical skills for all children through differentiated assessment and instruction, curriculum design, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and other evidence-based practices. This exploration includes educational equity, developmental theories, research, and teaching methodologies designed to promote individualized student growth within inclusive music and special education classrooms. Students learn to put theory into practice in supervised field experiences in P-12 classrooms.
