SPED 664 - Language & Literacy Methods in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education3 credits This course provides an in depth study of the complex nature of language acquisition and literacy in DHH students, with emphasis on the relationship between language and literacy. It includes information regarding the various communication modes that DHH students may use and how these may be incorporated into teaching practices. It examines evidence-based practices in language and literacy for hearing and DHH children.Methods for assessing aspects of language development and literacy skills as well as instructional strategies are emphasized.
