PHYS 309 - Statics 3 credits
Description The course is primarily for students intending further study in civil or mechanical engineering. Topics include the analysis of two and three dimensional force systems and the application of equilibrium principles to simple trusses, frames, and machines. Additional topics chosen from: distributed forces, hydrostatics, centroids, friction, and virtual work.
Prerequisites MATH 131 and PHYS 105/PHYS 205.
