Sectionalism and the origins of the Civil War, the social, political, economic, military and diplomatic history of the war, and the Reconstruction of the Union.

Prerequisites
students who have taken HIST 315 may not take HIST 412; history majors should take HIST 412 and not 315.

Note
Open to graduate students. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature.
