HIST 353 - Medieval Europe 3 credits
Description A study of the development of medieval Europe from the disintegration of the Western Roman empire to the dawn of the early modern era. Topics dealt with include the formation of a new European civilization that was a synthesis of the Greco- Roman, Judeo-Christian, and Germanic traditions, the varieties of Christianity in the West and East, the revival of commerce and growth of capitalism, and the cultural institutions that determined the European character.
