                | MATH 492 - History of Mathematics3 credits
 
 Description
 The topic of mathematics is studied through an historical perspective with an emphasis on fitting mathematics into larger cultural, social, and scientific contexts. This course does not count towards the mathematics major or minor.
 
 Prerequisites
 MATH 131, at least 3 additional mathematics courses numbered 132 or above, and senior status or above.
 
 Restrictions
 Upper Division Electives require 45 earned credit hours or more at time of registration.
 
 Note
 Open to graduate students. Graduate students are required to do additional work of a research nature.
