Description Basic jazz improvisation concepts, harmonies, forms, and materials, emphasizing the ability to hear, imitate, and create within the vocabulary of jazz.
Prerequisites MUS 111 and 113, or consent of instructor.
Note For the Professional-Vocational Curriculum, Music Major with Concentration in Composition. Presentation of a whole recital of original compositions during the semester enrolled; concurrent enrollment in 468. Prerequisites: 448 and 4 hours of 468; completion of all freshman and sophomore music requirements.
