ECT 280 - Introduction to Automation 3 credits
Description Automated manufacturing systems including mechanical, electronic, and computer-based systems which are used in the operation and control of production. The technology includes (1) machine tools for automatic part processing; (2) automatic material handling systems; (3) automatic assembly processing; (4) continuous flow processes; (5) feedback control systems; (6) computerized process control and computerized systems for data collection, planning, and decision making to support manufacturing activities.
