CS 568 - NT Server Administration and Networking 3 credits This hands-on course covers the complete process of installation, configuration, and administration of both the NT4 Server software and the Windows 2000 Server software. Includes actual set-up of a physical network including the design and installation of network interface cards, hubs, cables, servers, and workstations. Also includes installation and configuration of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS, IIS, FTP as well as important administrative tasks including the establishment of user roles, groups and security, file protection, configuring clients, tuning, backups, establishment of intranet and internet connections, and security.
Prerequisites 467/567 or Management Information Systems 430 or Electronics and Computer Technology 353. Note This course can be used as preparation for Microsoft Server MCSE certification examinations.
