Health Services Learning Outcomes


Outcome 1: Student will be able to assess individual and community needs for health education.
1.1 Assess community needs: Students assess community health needs and provide report.
1.2 Compare health data to programs: Students compare health indicator data to health programs offered in the community.
1.3 Help identify health needs: Students help identify health needs and write the needs assessment section of a grant proposal.
 
Foundational Studies 10: Express themselves effectively, professionally, and persuasively both orally and in writing.
Outcome 2: Students will be able to plan effective health education programs.
2.1 Plan a program: Students plan a program based on needs assessment and current research.
 
Foundational Studies 2: Critically evaluate the ideas of others.
2.2 Write the goals and objectives and program description section of a grant proposal: Students plan and write the goals and objectives and program description section of a grant proposal.
 
Foundational Studies 10: Express themselves effectively, professionally, and persuasively both orally and in writing.
Outcome 3: Students will be able to implement health education programs
3.1 Implement a health program: Students implement a health program and reflect on the experience.
Outcome 4: Students will be able to evaluate effectiveness of health education programs.
4.1 Conduct a research project: Students conduct a research project that includes an analysis and evaluation component.
4.2 Design an evaluation plan: Students design an evaluation plan for the proposed program described in the grant proposal.
Outcome 5: Students will be able to discuss challenges of healthcare organizations to provide appropriate care to individual consumers and communities and propose possible solutions.
5.1 Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and information: Students analyze quantitative and qualitative healthcare data and information for effective decisionmaking.

5.2 Identify an issue, conduct research, and propose solutions: Students identify a healthcare issue and conduct research on the topic and propose possible solutions to the identified problem.
