  • ELED 640 - Early Childhood Education Internship

    3-6 credits
    An opportunity for guided field experiences in administration, consultation, or supervision in early childhood education. The internship experiences are planned jointly with the student, the early childhood education faculty member, and field personnel under whose direction the student is working. The student is expected to demonstrate the ability to apply current early childhood education theories and practices in fulfilling the assignment. The student’s transcript will designate the area of specialization.

    Note
    An internship may be completed in more than one area of specialization, but no more than 6 semester hours may be counted toward meeting degree requirements.

  • ELED 666T - Elementary Social Studies Methods for the Transition Student

    3 credits
    This course will prepare the transition student to teach elementary social studies. The course will cover the major content areas of social studies, along with the core concepts within each discipline. Transition students will demonstrate both knowledge of each of the six major disciplines of social studies as well as an understanding of developmental characteristics of learners and how these characteristics influence understanding of core concepts within the social studies.

  • ELED 770 - Curriculum Development

    3 credits
    An advanced course for the curriculum specialist which examines the processes and procedures of initiating curriculum change, follow through, and evaluation. Special attention will be given curriculum laboratories, community committees, in-service training, articulation, and diversified programs for all students.

    Prerequisites
    660 or Curriculum, Instruction, and Media Technology 560M or Curriculum, Instruction, and Media Technology 660.
