SOC 302 - Work, Employment, and Society3 hours. Description This course is designed primarily to meet the General Education Capstone Course requirement. This course will do that by examining the “employment relationship.” In a society of employees the employment relationship emerges as among the most significant in a person’s life. Topics will include basic labor law, forms of the employment relationship, employment discrimination, regulation of the employment relationship, promotions, workplace politics, and workplace health and safety issues. Prerequisite/Corequisite Prerequisite: at least 78 credit hours, seven of nine required Liberal Studies courses, and sufficient progress in the major to validate work as a capstone experience.
