PSCI 107 - United States Diversity: Contemporary American Issues3 hours. Description This course examines contemporary issues, emphasizing those of a multicultural nature (that is, related to such matters as race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, and/or social class) in the United States. This course is conducted in a democratic spirit, allowing all sides of issues to be aired and helping students to construct depersonalized, educated, and informed arguments on confusing, controversial, and sensitive issues. The purpose of this course is to begin to equip students with the cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal skills for living efficaciously in an increasingly diverse American society.
